About Us

The business was established in 1960 by Mr Gary Cummins and his wife Elsie in a small Peakhurst factory.

The success of the business due to dedication and customer service made it necessary for the business to move twice into larger premises. Land was purchased in Lorraine Street, Peakhurst and the current factory was constructed.

In 1973 Gary's son Geoff commenced various duties within the business culminating in a 4 year apprenticeship as a cabinetmaker and a further 2 year qualification as an advanced cabinetmaker. In 1993 Geoff attained his builders certificate qualifications.

Mr Gary Cummins and his wife Elsie retired from the business in January 1994 and Geoff and wife Lisa took over full operation of the company.

The six years leading to the present have seen continued growth and diversification by Cummins Joinery and the business is very well established in a broad range of services provided by the industry.

Evolution ...

Originally the company manufactured predominantly kitchens and bathroom furniture. This was followed by an expansion into the field of restoration. In the 1970s, shop, office and club fit outs were added to the range of services provided by the company. Through technology and modernisation Cummins Joinery is now in the position where no job is too big or too small.
